Melbourne witnesses huge turnout for Jazbaa's special screening organised by Bollyoz.com
The Indian community in Melbourne gathered in huge numbers to support the special screening of the film Jazbaa on 10th October. Bollyoz.com the brainchild of Dr Vikrant Kishore, with Kirti Sehrawat - the Chief Editor was the proud host of this special screening to announce its launch on 13th October.
The screening of this film was made possible due to the support of the ace Australian-Indian film distributor Vikas Paul, with support from young entrepreneur Nitin Gurshani (Kiren Australia) and one of the leading Australian travel agents Aussizz Travels, which was represented by T J Patel, as well as, Dr Sonia Singh (an academic and an upcoming actress) and Pushpa Narayan (Mai Nachungi Dance group fame).
The film was screened at the classic ASTOR Theatre, which is a cinema in the grand, old manner. The last single screen cinema of its kind in continuous operation in Melbourne, still standing since its grand opening in 1936, and one of only a few single screen movie theatres from the 1930s in the world screening repertory movie programming. This beautiful theatre was the perfect setting for the wonderful gathering and film screening.
The programme started with Kirti Sehrawat announcing the launch of Bollyoz.com and thanking all the sponsors who made the programme possible. The screening saw some known Indian faces around Melbourne such as Gautam Gupta, Nalin Sharda, Anita Brar, Molina Swarup Asthana, Vishwajeet Pradhan, Sonalika Pradhan and Rashi Kapoor. Pushpa Narayan's Mai Nachungi dance company gave a great performance on popular Bollywood songs. The event was well received and the audience appreciated the film, which was an edgy thriller...
About the film:
Jazbaa is a fast paced, edge of your seat, action thriller with an equally frantic and bustling Mumbai city as its backdrop. Directed by Sanjay Gupta, the film stars Aishwarya Rai Bachchan and Irrfan in lead roles. The film revolves around the journey of a prominent and respected lawyer Anuradha (Aishwarya), who is yet to lose a case, along with Yohan (Irrfan), a suspended cop with much disregard for age old rules. They race against time and corruption to save her daughter Sanaya. What follows is a frenetic chase of cat and mouse which takes them to a most unexpected and shocking end. Jazbaa, a high-octane thriller intertwined with superlative action, drama and mystery will also see Shabana Azmi, Atul Kulkarni, Chandan Roy Sanyal, Siddhanth Kapoor, Abhimanyu Singh and Jackie Shroff.
